HIV Infection in India

There are approximately 2.39 million people infected with the HIV virus in India. This figure doesn’t seem very high when we compare it to that of Nigeria, which is 3.4 million and the 5.6 million people infected with HIV in South Africa, especially if we take into account the population of these three countries (British Medical Journal 2013; 347; f 6184).
