20 women die each year from using contraceptives

According to the French National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products (02/04/2013), 20 women in France die each year from using third- and fourth-generation contraceptives, and 2,529 thromboembolisms occur as a side effect of these forms of birth control.
