A few weeks ago, I observed that more states are considering Simon’s Law. Today, I was alerted to this online petition.
“There is a need for Simon’s Law nationwide. In many hospitals across America it is legal for a child to be denied life-sustaining care and for a ‘do not resuscitate’ order (DNR) to be placed on a child’s medical chart without parental knowledge or consent.”
“Do you want a third party determining the value of your child? Should it be legal to withhold procedures, medications, food or water to hasten the death of a child without written parental consent? Should it be legal to place a ‘do not resuscitate’ order (DNR) in a child’s medical chart without written parental consent?”
