Medical Aid in Dying Becomes Legal in California on June 9

Yesterday, the California Senate voted to close the special legislative session on health care.  That starts the countdown for California’s End of Life Options Act to take effect.

The EOLO was approved through the special session last fall and signed by Governor Jerry Brown in October.  The law takes effect 90 days after the session concludes, June 9.
