Sex conversion therapies face Presidential opposition who said it is founded in a review

President Obama has declared himself in favour of ending sex conversion practices, so-called “reparative” therapies, for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual (LGBT) young people. His opinion is based on the fact that these techniques are discredited and not supported by scientific entities. Moreover, a review sponsored by the World Bank has shown that this practice is not just ineffective, but may be harmful (The Lancet 385; 1478, 2015).
