Hospital Maintains Physiological Support on Patient for One Month after Death

More than a month ago, 13-year-old Michael LaVecchia was determined dead on the basis of neurological criteria at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson, NJ.  

But only yesterday, at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center (where Michael was later transferred) did clinicians remove Michael from physiological support.
