Euthanasia law in Belgium for any age

Euthanasia law in Belgium for any age – In February 2014, the Belgian parliament approved a bill to permit euthanasia for terminally-ill children of any age, with 86 votes in favour, 44 against, and 12 abstentions. This project acquired the force of law when it was signed by the King in March, making Belgium the first country in the world to legalise euthanasia at any age. Until then, the youngest age at which euthanasia could be applied was 12-years-old, in the Netherlands (J Med Ethics 40; 357, 2014).
