The Office for Human Research Protections hosts the Digital Archive for the Protection of Human Subjects. Supported by an OHRP contract with the Kennedy Institute of Ethics, selected documents in the Institute's library (the National Reference Center for Bioethics Literature, NRCBL) are being digitized to make these historic materials accessible to researchers at OHRP's website. A core component of the OHRP Digital Archive is the set of historic pre-1995 Federal Register Notices on human subject protections, all have been posted at the OHRP archive. In addition to these are the reports and appendices of the National Commission for the Protection of Human Subjects of Biomedical and Behavioral Research; the digitization of these should be completed in 2007. Making fulltext available via the Web is an ongoing effort of the NRCBL. Supplemental to that, of course, is a comprehensive special reference library located in Healy Hall 102 on the main campus of Georgetown University. NRCBL continues to collect interdisciplinary literature on human experimentation. The non-circulating library contains over 33,000 books, reports, audiovisuals, legal documents, electronic resources and journal and newspaper articles on all ethical, legal, and public policy aspects of human experimentation and scientific research ethics. We welcome you to take advantage of these library resources. Doris M. Goldstein, Director Citations are from the ETHXWeb
database, maintained by the NRCBL. NRCBL databases are updated semimonthly. Last updated: February 2008 |
