Archival Collections

The archival holdings of the National Reference Center for Bioethics Literature include collections relating to the:

• Advisory Committee on Human Radiation Experiments
• Human Genome Project. Materials assembled by Robert Cook-Deegan in the preparation of his book The Gene Wars, including a bibliography of materials he consulted during his research for this book.
• National Bioethics Advisory Commission (NBAC). Copies of the reports, meeting transcripts, briefing books, and other materials were received when the Commission's Charter expired on October 3, 2001. In addition, the library hosts and maintains the National Bioethics Advisory Commission Digital Archive.
• National Commission for the Protection of Human Subjects of Biomedical and Behavioral Research
• President's Commission for the Study of Ethical Problems in Medicine and in Biomedical and Behavioral Research
