Islamic Medical and Scientific Ethics

Frieda Wiebe and Laura Bishop recently gave a presentation on the Islamic Medical and Scientific Ethics (IMSE) Project to the American Library Association's Near East and South Asia Subcommittee in New Orleans, LA. The Project Staff's experience with the extra effort required to accommodate Arabic script and bioethics-related indexing were of special interest to attendees.

Frieda Wiebe, MLS, MBA, is the Director of the Georgetown University SFS-Qatar Library in Doha, Qatar. She is Co-Principal Investigator on the IMSE Project with Doris Goldstein, MLS, MA, Director of the Bioethics Research Library, Kennedy Institute of Ethics, Georgetown University.

Laura Bishop, PhD, is the Academic Program Officer for International, Library and Outreach Initiatives, Kennedy Institute of Ethics.
